The short answer to this is.. Island Star has joined pullmantur cruises, they currently have 6 ships one of which is the sister ship to Island Star. This pair were at celebrity together as the Horizon and Zenith.
Zenith still carries this name,so perhaps Island Star will revert to Horizon. This name was still visible when we sailed on her in October 2006.Pullmantur also has the ex Sovereign of the seas which it calls plain and simply Sovereign.Hope this helps.

The TUI group (which owns Thomsons) has always owned the Escape. It was their contribution (in ship terms) to their half of the Island Cruises operation. When they bought out Royal Caribbean's 50% of the company RCCL kept their contribution (ie Star) and are moving it to the Spanish Pulmantour company (a company RCCL purchased a few years ago) once Star has finished its winter run (under the Island Cruises flag) in the Caribbean.
