Hi I am going at end of October with my wife, who is also celebrating her birthday on 28th Oct (dare not give her age but close). Our friend is also going on same cruise with her mother. You may be the week before which is in school holidays.

Hi,
Just arrived back from a cruise on the Island Star and all age groups from the very young to the very old were on it. I would say that there were quite a few over 50's on board so I wouldn't worry too much. Depending which week you are going in October you may not have many youmg families on board unless it is the half-term week.
Also, I went on a cruise in the last week of October last year around the Med. Initially, the weather wasn't great (ie some rain but still fairly warm), but then we had 4 days of sunshine. Its pot luck at that time of year but generally it will be alot better than here in the UK!
