Hi we've just returned from an island cruise on the island star for a week, and it was excellent!! Weve cruised with princess before, which was also brilliant but we found geared to older people more, especially the night entertainment. On the island star we went to "the pub" at night which was always excellent entertainment from Eddie Martin and Superfly.
The cabin was a shock which was very basic, but was kept spotlessly clean by the cabin girl. The food was excellent and we mostly went to the beachcomber, it was fantastic and i would say 5* dining. We are aged 38 and 40 and i would say this ship was better at night than the Princess.
There were also lots of children so anyone with kids wanting to cruise this is definetly the one for you! We absolutely loved it and are planning a cruise and stay holiday next year on the Island Star.
