My husband and I cruised on the star from 14th june to 21st 2008, and had a great time. We booked to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and mentioned this when booking, so when we came on board we had a bottle of moet chandon in our cabin which was really nice. The food was great in all restaurants and you would need to be really fussy and a complainer if you couldn't find something you liked. We did do three nights at the island restaurant paying a little extra but was worth it for the extra attention and waiter service. Gusti and camilla served us these three occasions and couldn't have been lovelier. Our cabin had two single beds, surprisingly spacious, not particularly fancy but more than adequate and kept clean and tidy by our steward Pinto. We were on the silver deck and had a window whick i liked.
We did the monumental rome excursion which was very good, with two excellent guides provided and a lovely lunch included in the cost which made it seem better value. We also did a bike excursion which is fun and a great way to see the town or city round about the port where the ship is docked. We did this in Sardinia in the port of Alghero which was lovely.
Onboard we didn't take part in many of the activities and felt there could have been a little bit more going on round the pool during the day as created a really fun atmosphere when there was something, but we did go offthe ship for short periods of time everyday so wasn't really that important. If you were to take part in activities onboard I think there was enought to keep you occupied. The waiter staff walking about the deck were a bit overly attentive but thats not really much of a complaint to have is it? All staff and crew were so pleasant and never passed us without a smile or greeting.
The night timeentertainment was pretty good some nights better than others. we enjoyed the jongluers commedians very much and the entertainment staff who did the big shows were of a very high standard, a bit more of these would have been good as some of the other choices were a bit average but enjoyable enough. Loved the cocktails and these were a great price. I have no complaints, the ships decor perhaps was only 3 star but the service was a definite 5 star.
We would definitely cruise on the star again. Thanks to all for makin our holiday a fab one. David and Sandra Grant from East Kilbride, Glasgow.

| Quality of Food | |
| We ate three times at the isalnd estaurant and was fab the rest of the time was between the beachcomber and oasis restaurants and no complaints for any of them. | | Entertainment | |
| The least enjoyable entertainment was the last night talking to the entertainment team and asking them questions, this was a bit dull, not what i would call entertainment. Everthing else was enjoyable enough some better than others as written in my review. | | Shore Excursions | |
| We did 2 excursions, rome and bike excursion and enjoyed both in different ways. | | Staff | |
| I mentioned 3 members of staff, Gusti and Camilla in the Oasis Restaurant who were both lovely and made our dining experiences there very enjoyable. Pinto was our steward and he was lovely, very shy but did an excellent job. Mike Gibbons I also liked, he spoke to me the first day on board and remenbered me after that which impressed me considering the number of people on board. | | Children's Facilities | n/a |
