My wife and I went on our first cruise last August 2007. From the first moment we set eyes on our ship, The Island Star, berthed in Barcelona Harbour, we were awestruck. The ship is beautiful, the crewe cannot do enough for you - nothing is too much trouble - and the food was delicious and so beautifuly presented. The entertainment was excellant, musicals equalling any top Broadway show, tribute acts uncannily resembling original artists and very, very funny comedians. Waking up each day in new surroundings was amazing. It is a great way to get a 'taster' of lots of different countries and islands. We were only sorry when we had to leave. We opted only for 7 days, being our first cruise and not knowing what to expect. We thouroughly enjoyed ourselves and are looking forward to repeating the experience for a little longer next time. Our advice? Book up and enjoy!

Quality of Food5
We ate mostly in The Beachcomber or Island Restuarants. We did not feel it necessary to pay extra for the Oasis Restuarant as the food in the other restuarants was excellant.
Entertainment5
All acts were brilliant!
Shore Excursions5
Our favourite time ashore was Florence & Pisa.
Staff5
All the crewe were very attentive and efficient.

Onboard Activities5
Yes - you could be as active or as lazy as you wanted.
Cabins5
Our cabin was very spacious and kept spotlessly clean. The cabin boy wouldn't let even a wrinkle remain on our bedding. If we popped back during the day and happened to sit on our bunk, ruffling it a bit, when we returned again later it would be straightened out again! Our pj's would be neatly hung up if we left them lying around too! Needless to say we stopped sitting on our bunk or leaving our pj's lying around as we didn't want to give our poor wee cabin boy extra work. Also a nice touch was our towels cleverly folded every day into swans, rabbits or monkeys!
