Having just returned from the Island Star after a great week travelling around the Med- I/We just wanted to say it was great.

This was our first cruise , so unsure quite what to expect. It was relaxed, informal , we could do as much or as little as we liked.

Our 12 year old was safe to go off and do her own thing with the Teen club - and was often back in the cabin after us a night. It was a treat to give her so much independance , within a safe environment.

The crew were superb, nothing was too much trouble. The Island resaurant was where we eat most of the time, the food brilliant and plenty to choose from.

The shows were good and will something for everyone. Roddie Williams tribute act Lee Pashley was very ( excuse the pun ) entertaining. The comedy shows great- especially Jason Wood.

Excursions were costly but the best one we did ,was the Barcelona Cosmopolitan tour. We will definately be returning to Barcelona.

The only down side was that smoking was allowed in two enclosed areas of the ship - The Bounty Bar and The Pub.

After not having to share the air with smoke in public, for over a year , it was indeed not pleasant. I am not anti smoking - it is an individual's choice ( I smoked for over 22 years and have only been a non smoker for nearly the last 3 yrs.)
But i feel smoking should been done in the open , so it does not effect anyone else.

We have already booked for next year on the Island Escape -- so we are hoping that the sistership, although older and slightly smaller , is able to offer us a cruise just as enjoyable as our first.

I/We hope you find this review informative and fair.
