We cruised for the first time this year, on the Island Star from the 20th Sept - 4th Oct. For anyone looking for casual cruising this ship is perfect. No dressing up requirements and a happy atmosphere all over the boat. The facilities are excellent and I cannot fault the food. If you want to pay a supplement then I can recommend the Oasis Restaurant for something a bit special.
We only did 3 half day excursions but we enjoyed all three, very well organised.
From the moment we arrived at Gatwick until we returned to Gatwick 2 weeks later everything was taken care of, thank you island cruises for the most wonderful holiday. The staff was 100% brilliant 24/7.

We ate in all restaurants, preferred Beachcomber and Oasis.

We enjoyed the crew shows and most of all the comedians, the singers brought in from the UK were top class.

Did Monoco/Pisa/Pompeii - Recommend all 3

All the staff impressed us but our favourate was Jonathon in the Oasis Restaurant, he made a special impact on us.

Glad you had a good holiday. My wife and I had our first ever cruise on the Island Star in August and had a fabulous time with bike tours in each port run by great guides. We loved the food including dining at the Steak House. Staff were wonderful - so friendly and helpful. We had booked for next year but had to change to the Escape as the Star has been sold off - what a great shame !

i am really pleased you enjoyed your first cruise my husband and myself have cruised with island many times and have always had a great time we sailed on the star in june and were hoping to sail on the star again next year but unfortunately due to the ship going back to RCI we will have to look elsewhere unless we go on the escape i keep reading reviews on ocean village good and not so good but untill you go for yourself you cant really say

Not sold off - she was leased and her owners RCI are taking her back. Island are now only left with a very old (26) Island Escape.

hiya looks like you hadfab cruise sorry but it will be last with island star did you here any thing about take over .it will only be island escape from next year ive done them every year since 2003 .im very sad to see her going from the company
