Just returned from the med cruise on the Island Escape , my first cruise and I am totally converted, as I was warned.
Waking up in a different port each day was so exciting. The staff were excellant and work very hard all the time to make it special.
The ship was a bit dated and certainly needed tidying up, very basic accomodation, but enough space. Food was great plenty of choice and 24 hour eating . Drinks were very reasonable, and very strong !!!.
I would advise anyone who goes to Rome ( vatican City) that you definately need a guide to get the most out of it, and it is a long way from the port. The tour was worth every penny though.
Also Monaco is best escorted, the other ports were fine to find your own way. I went with my sister and we , did feel a bit out of it as lots of people were in couples, but we met lots of people from Glasgow and Dublin and it was great to spend time with them. All in all I will always cruise from now on .....funds allowing !!!
