This was our first cruise but we have been converted! From the first moment we walked on board the ship we felt looked after and from then onwards that feeling never changed! The food was fantastic, the entertainment brilliant and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Must congratulate Mick Dundee and Ross of the entertainments team - really funny Miss Island Escape sketches!! Great impersonation of the Captain - Guy Lockwood. Also must recommend asking for Jin (Welcome to Chinatown) in Island Restaurant - an excellent waiter who gave us quizes and napkin folding lessons during and after our evening meals! very entertaining. We did a few trips and also did our own thing when going off the ship. Thoroughly recommend this ship. We had a great time - best holiday yet!
Quality of Food5
Beachcomber rest for breakfast and lunch - excellent choice and plenty of it! Island Rest for evening meals - same again. recommend Jin! Did have a meal in Oasis (supplement paid) but Island rest best
Entertainment5
Absolutely brilliant - quizes, Miss Island Escape! Ross and Mick Dundee not to be missed!
Shore Excursions4
Did our own thing a few times but did find the Livorno boat trip entertaining in a different way - the guide was very amusing!! The guide on the Nice - Monte Carlo trip was also very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Staff5
Jin from the Island Rest Francis in the Ocean Theatre Anna in the Sundowner pub
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities4
Only thing that got our backs up was the pool - too many noisy children who didn't shut up when asked by the quiz masters!!

Great to read a review AFTER enjoying a week on the ship - I am glad we sailed after the kids went back to school - we'd have hated to be bothered by noisy children everwhere, so what comes out of your review, the comment on it below AND our own experience is this. Best time for the Escape? - Start of term-time!

I must take issue with you about the unfortunate comments you make here regarding throwing things overboard. We are living in times of global warming and threats to our environment. What you suggest throwing overboard (as referred to in your comment) can only benefit the environment by feeding poor hungry sharks, hunting round an ever-increasingly barren ocean looking for food. I guess they can spit out the shoes and hats.
